Join the SA Guide dogs for a family fun day

Enter the raffle at the family fun day and stand a chance to win a brand new car.

The SA Guide Dogs Association for the blind is hosting a family fun day on March 10.

The assocaition is asking the community to come join them celebrate the leap year. With their theme being Leaps Of Fun, the organisation has a fun-filled programme.

“Come and see our puppies in training wear the cutest outfits and watch our assistance dogs demonstrate their unique skills in our arena events,” said the regional marketing manager, Nicole Barros.

This year, the College of Orientation and Mobility are celebrating 50 years of training practitioners in South Africa as well as 10 years of offering our services to the South African communities. They are putting on a fantastic demo of their amazing skills and services. “Are you brave enough to take on the simulation experience? Or to do a blindfold walk with a guide dog? If so join them at the family fun day.”

“Visitors can enjoy the entertainment in the arena whilst cooling off at our beer garden, indulge in delicious eats and treats or shop at the variety of vendors at the market on the day,” said Barros. “The kids zone promises leaps of fun with face painting, a jumping castle, a magician, a puppet show by Leo’s Edutainment and some more surprises.”

There will also be a raffle for everyone to enter and stand a chance to win a brand new car. Tickets will be available at the door. R50 for adults, R20 for pensioners and children under 12 can enter for free. No pets or dogs allowed besides SA Guide Dogs Assistance Dogs. All funds will go to the organisation thus helping people who are blind or partially sighted with guide dogs, mobility and other rehabilitation services.

The event will be held at 126 Wroxham Road Paulshof from 10:00 and their doors close at 16:00.
