Families cheer as triathlon athletes cross the finish line
Friends and families had a great time cheering on their loved ones who participated in the Auto and General Triathlon at Steyn City.
Friends and families showed up in numbers to support their loved ones as they competed in cycling, swimming, and riding events on February 24, at Steyn City. This was for the third Auto and General Cross Triathlon.
Not only did the families get to cheer on their loved ones as they competed, but there were also plenty of food and snack stalls for them to enjoy.
“It is a beautiful day; we feel so blessed with such wonderful weather. We have a long relationship with Steyn City building this triathlon and this is the third year. We started it because we wanted to create more opportunities for triathlon athletes in Gauteng. Because Steyn City has the amenities and facilities to host something like this, it is the perfect fit for us. We have been very blessed to extend this event to more than just a pro over the years we have added half the distances to it. So, it has become more like a family event, teams can enter, and people who specialise in swimming and running can do a leg of the race and enter as a team. It is a lovely event,” said the head of marketing of Auto and General, Johanni Jennings.
Media personalities including Rozanne McKenzie from Jacaranda FM, and Thando ‘Thabooty’ Thabete were among the competitors participating in the triathlon.
