Photography is in safe hands

Meet Paige Holton and Lusanda Maselwane who are junior photographers from Fourways High School.

Meet Paige Holton and Lusanda Maselwane:

As the Fourways Review was busy taking photographs during the final assembly of the Class of 2023 from Fourways High School, we met Paige Holton and Lusanda Maselwane who seemed very dedicated to capturing every moment of the school’s valediction. So much so that we could not help but ask, “Are you like the school journalists?”

Paige replied, “Not really, we are actually the school’s photographers.”
She said she joined the school photography department after one of her teachers was impressed with a picture she had taken some time ago.

“I appreciate what the school is doing for us because they feed and nurture our passion. I want to pursue interior design and photography in the future. I was going to say next year as well, but unfortunately, I am still in Grade 10.”

While Lusanda, on the other hand, said, “You are almost right, but I’m not really interested in journalism. I love telling stories but it would be through film and television. That is what I am hoping to pursue after matric.”

She said she is also grateful to the school for investing in her passion, “It does not end here really; we also have drones, so we are well equipped, that is what I love about my school. The teachers are very supportive of our dreams.”

They both agreed that the future belongs to those who prepare for it now and that practice makes perfect. That is the same reason, they cannot let go of their cameras.
