Residents donate goodies for pets on their special day

Fourways Gardens Residential Estate participated in celebrating International World Animal Day by making donations.

Estate manager of Fourways Gardens Residents Estate Charlene Marlin would not miss an opportunity to express her love for the fur babies out there. So, she told her office team that October 4 is a big day for animals because it is International World Animal Day.

Team member Elmine Clarke said, “As a passionate animal lover, Charlene wanted our events team to initiate a drive to benefit pets on their special day.”
This was not their first time, though. She told us that over the years, the estate has worked with various charities to look out for pets.

“Our estate champions for animal charities are Kitty and Puppy Haven’s Mark Redwood-Thompson and Dogs Trust’s Sian Clark. When we contacted and shared the idea with them, they were overjoyed – to say the least.”

Clarke added that the homeowners association has put a call to all residents to donate pet food for this worthy cause. “We also allocated an amount from the Fourways Gardens Home Owners Association to donate food and other necessities these worthy causes require. For instance, they always need, cleaning and antiseptic liquids, mops, basins and doggie baths.

“With Sian Clark for the handover, was the founder of Dogs Trust, Lee Ramalho, and another volunteer, Monica Volpes. We encourage the entire greater Fourways community to contact them and help where you can. They really do a fantastic job.”
