Learners from Beaulieu College, Beaulieu Preparatory School and Kyalami Preparatory School showcased their talents during the Kyalami Schools Group Art Festival held at Kyalami Corner from September 28 to September 30.
The schools indulged the community with beautiful art pieces and music performances done by the learners.
According to the marketing manager of Beaulieu College, Lesego Tyebileyo, “This year the Art Festival at Kyalami Corner reminded us how great it is to come together as a community, embrace our differences and celebrate each other while supporting our children through art and music. The days and evenings were blessed with beautiful weather which simply allowed for an amazing and awesome experience.”
The Beaulieu College marimba band led the festival with grace and spunk. The learners portrayed their art pieces in the mall for people to embrace and acknowledge the talent within the children. A quote by Pablo Picasso was portrayed, “Every child is an artist. The problem is to remain an artist once they grow up.”
Tyebileyo thanked Donavan Williams and Jacky Sergeant, the art teachers at Beaulieu Preparatory School and Kyalami Preparatory School. She also thanked Petri de Klerk, the art teacher at Beaulieu College. “A very big thank you to Kyalami Corner for hosting us and for being part of this fantastic celebration of art every year,” she added.
