New Karate Champion at Crawford

Crawford Lonehill Grade 6 learner, Christos Prokas is ranked 4th position in the world at the World Universal Karate Federation.

Crawford International Lonehill Grade 6 learner, Christos Prokas participated in the World Universal Karate Federation (WUKF) championships which is one of the largest martial arts competitions in the world.

The WUKF is the international governing body for karate with 45 member countries in the world. Christos went to Scotland to compete against 31 countries and almost 2000 competitors in the All Styles World Championships.

Christos started karate at the age of four and began competing at the world level with his current dojo. Christos missed out on third place by 0.1 and missed Gold by only 1.4 points which put him in fourth position in the world in his kata division.

Karate is known to strengthen the mind, develop composure, and more self-confidence. Christo hopes to continue training at a high level and aims to achieve gold in the next competition in Denmark in 2025.
