Dainfern College's Grade 6 became the first group to visit the South African Mint after COVID.

Dainfern College’s Grade 6 learners explored the South African Mint. The college became the first school to embark on the adventure since the pre-covid-19 era.

The learners had the opportunity to learn from the chief coin designer and chief die sinker who shared fascinating insights.

The learners participated in a coin tower-building contest and witnessed the creation of an R5 coin using the oldest coining press in the country. Each learner received a unique edition R5 collectable coin embellished with a whale as a special keepsake.
