Chilli Lane hosted the night market to get families out of their houses and enjoy new events in the area. With the rain falling, the parking lot at the shopping centre was decorated with fairy lights and saw many stalls set up to sell food, drinks, various crafts, jewellery and memorabilia.

“When we first put feelers out for it as a means to research, we found that in a 10km radius, there is not much entertainment at night for families. With load-shedding, people wanting to go out and try new things, why not approach the chance to host a market in the area,” she said.

“We’re looking to host this market bi-monthly but we’re looking to have it next month. We want to maybe have it on the second Thursday of every month so I want this to become an event on everyone’s calendars.”
