Fourways community raise their glass for a worthy cause

Community members who attend the various tastings at Norman Goodfellows in Fourways are aiding in the fundraising efforts for Roodepoort-based NPO, Just in Time Baby Sanctuary.

While locals sipped on Stellenbosch-developed wine, funds from ticket sales were being raised for a local baby sanctuary.

Norman Goodfellows in Fourways Crossing hosted close to 40 people for an indulgent evening of tasting various wines by Vilafonté Winery which is one of their suppliers.
Siphiwe Mashoene, group marketing manager at Norman Goodfellows said the store became involved with Just in Time Baby Sanctuary in April this year and had been raising funds for them ever since.

“We are using this wine tasting as a platform to get our customers to taste what we are offering because people tend to buy when they know how it tastes. While we are using the opportunity to get foot traffic into our store, why not use the opportunity to also give back to the community,” she said.
“We asked someone to recommend a few charities we could donate to because we didn’t know where to start. Just in Time came back to us very quickly and we established a very good relationship with them. Every time we have a tasting event, we then deposit the money into their account.”
Just in Time Baby Sanctuary is based in Roodepoort and care for babies who have been abused or abandoned.
