23-year-old man rushed to local health facility after he was allegedly shot and robbed by Rolex Gang

A 23-year-old man was rushed to hospital after being shot by suspects believed to be members of the Rolex Gang.

A case of armed robbery has been opened after a 23-year-old man was shot outside a shopping centre on October 14 in Sunninghill.

Colonel Cain Sibitane from Sandton Police Station said the victim was treated on the scene and rushed to the local healthcare facility by paramedics following a robbery by suspects believed to be members of the Rolex Gang.

“The incident happened along Leeuwkop Road. Police have opened a case of armed robbery and the investigation has been launched.”

The Rolex Gang is a group of suspected criminals who allegedly follow people home from shopping centres and rob them of expensive jewellery, money and other valuable belongings.

He urged members of the public to report any suspicious activities and be extra careful when driving home from shopping malls.
