Beaulieu and Kyalami community put pedal to the metal in cycling and trail running race

With the last race held in 2019, learners and parents of the Kyalami Schools Group were eager to dust off their mountain bikes and running shoes for the Beaulieu Challenge.

Over 600 mountain bike riders and trail runners took to the newly built courses at Asidlale Adventure Park with the Like 2 Bike organisation in Kyalami on October 16.

For the 11th year, the Beaulieu Challenge was hosted by schools part of the Kyalami Schools Group. The challenge had mountain bike trails of 5km, 10km, 25km and 45km races. Participants and community members could also take part in the running trail races of either 5km or 10km. The Fourways Review journalist Khomotso Makgabutlane headed to the course to capture the morning’s cycling and running at the course in Kyalami. The challenge was hosted for the first time in two years since Covid-19 restrictions prevented the event from taking place.
