Local gospel music artist and songwriter to drop her EP with the help of her employer

Local gospel artist said music was something that she always wanted to do in order to heal and restore hope to those in despair.

Dainfern domestic worker, songwriter and gospel music artist Khenile Dube will finally release her first Extended Play (EP) with the help of her employer at the end of October.

Khenile said her EP, titled Ilula Lendlela Khuluma Iqiniso (This journey is easy, just speak the truth), will feature six songs.

Dube, who hails from KwaBulawayo in Zimbabwe, said music was something she always wanted to do in order to heal and restore hope to those in despair.

The single mother of three children said she believes music was the calling through which God was using her to spread the gospel.

ā€œI grew up in a God-fearing family and my father was the pastor responsible for one of the churches in our neighbourhood. I developed a love for music in order to help heal the wounds of those going through difficult situations and to restore their hope. I strongly believe that music has power to heal broken hearts and restore hopeā€

She thanked her employer, Hanim Dogan-Jain, for supporting her to record her first music EP.

ā€œMy employer, Hanim Dogan, had always supported and encouraged me to record my music. I think she realised that my music speaks to what she loves, helping others to become something great.ā€

Dogan-Jain said listening to Dube singing every day made her realise that her music carried a strong message.

ā€œI love mentoring and helping other women become better people in life. Iā€™ve been living with Khenile for eight years now and I realised that her dream to record her song was authentic and genuine and I decided to give her all the support she needed.ā€ Dogan-Jain said.
