New Fourways High School prefects promise to lead with dignity and honour

The 2022/2023 class of Fourways High School prefects took the pledge to honour and uphold the traditions of their school in an induction assembly.

New councillors set to lead learners at Fourways High School were announced to the school on September 16.

The assembly saw a number of learners from grades 8 to 10 receive their junior councillor’s badges, while a group of the current Grade 11 class were named as the new prefect body for the school. The room erupted in cheers as the new executive body, head and deputy head presidents were announced.

Oregomoditse Mahlobo was announced as head girl, and Jordan Naidoo as head boy and deputy president.
Among the learners announced, the new tribe captains were called out to learners and their parents. Once the list of prefects was announced, they got to don their new blazers after taking an oath to uphold and serve the school’s morals and values.

Principal, Andrew Holliday congratulated the learners and wished them luck for the upcoming challenge in their final schooling year.

“You need the support throughout your term of office from the student body, but you also need the support of the staff and management of the school. I personally would like to pledge my support for Fourways High School’s student council and what it needs to make this school-the shining example of what a school should be,” he said.
“Not only does the school need to achieve in all the different activities it takes part in, but we also need to be developing our leaders and we need to be an institution that all learners; past, present and future can be comfortable in and be proud of.”
