Head of choreography at HHMZ Dance School on a mission to unearth new talent

A local choreographer says his biggest dream is to see local youngsters do well in life and focusing on positive things.

Henry Nene from Fourways, who is the head of choreography at HHMZ Dance School, writes:

I am the dance teacher, performer and choreographer at HHMZ Dance School and I get my inspiration from working with people especially the little ones and the youth.

My biggest dream is to see local youngsters do well in life and focus on positive things.

I work alongside an amazing choreographer, Lerato Hure and we share the same vision as we are passionate about children and dance.

Our school is based in Dainfern at Junction Centre, it was established in 2014 and we also have our own school clothing brand. We make our clothes for our dance groups and sometimes we make our music for our groups.

We have won the SA Championship of performing arts involving more than seven teams and we have also won the World Dance Challenge and SA Dance School Championship in 2020 and 2021.

One of our solo dancers has recently moved to New York after he placed first in the World Dance Challenge in Los Angeles last year.

Head horeographer at HHMZ Dance School, Henry Nene enjoys teaching local youngsters.

We participate in several dance competitions with more dance teams and hope to do well and push the children to represent South Africa overseas.
