Women in Blue conduct a successful roadblock operation on the R114 in Diepsloot

Police spokesperson said Operation Basadi was in line with the celebration of Women’s month within SAPS

Diepsloot police conducted a special Women in Blue roadblock operation along the R114 in Diepsloot on August 18.

Police spokesperson Captain Tinyiko Mathebula said 14 illegal immigrants were arrested and traffic fines to the tune of R6 000 were issued during the operation.

“Women in law enforcement in conjunction with the community in blue women patrollers conducted a successful special roadblock operation along R114 to put a stamp of authority in the fight against crime within the Diepsloot policing precinct. The operation was in line with the celebration of Women’s Month within SAPS.”

Mathebula said the people arrested appeared briefly in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on August 19 and were remanded in custody.

He urged members of the community to report any criminal activities to their nearest police station or report a crime anonymously to Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
