Q&A with Sunninghill’s Ann-Magret McKerrell

Sunninghill resident and local specialist in post-surgical care and end of life care at Sunninghill Recovery Lodge shares some of her favourite places in her community.

Q: Where is your favourite place to grab a takeaway coffee, and why?
A: I almost never do this, but on the rare occasion I would definitely go to Seattle coffee, for no other reason than their coffee is the best tasting.

Q: What’s the best place you would get a sweet treat from and why?
A: I love the Zoune chocolate cake and these cakes I always buy at Sunninghill Spar. Also, the kindest most generous owners ever so will always support them when I can. I also enjoy that the owners are both named Chris, so there is no chance of me ever mixing it up.

Q: If you could recommend a place to your friend who has children (a family-friendly place), which would you suggest and why?
A: Coffee and Crunch in Sunninghill. It is by the river, it has a magical ‘wood’ and is run by a dear woman who serves this community with all her heart.

Q: Describe your community in four words?
A: Inclusive, inspiring, incomparable and inviting.

Q: Tell your community a joke/riddle that you like?
A: My blonde neighbour has placed ‘Missing cat’ posters all over the neighbourhood. I said to her ‘I thought your cat died Becky?’ ‘It did,’ she said, ‘That is why I am missing him.’

Q: On an evening you don’t feel like cooking lunch or dinner, what is your go-to place and why?
A: We like Bosco’s. Owner-run and unique, serves great Italian food and has remained in a league of its own despite many changes in the centre.
