Sixteen arrested in Douglasdale weekend operations

Those arrested by Douglasdale police in the weekend operations will appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court soon.

The beginning of July saw Douglasdale police embark on operations that led to a number of arrests in the community.
Douglasdale police arrested 16 suspects during weekend operations from July 1 to 3.

The spokesperson Captain Mpho Tshetlhane said, “The suspects were arrested for crimes such as rape, sexual assault, assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of drugs, possession of an unlicensed firearm, fraud, theft, dealing in liquor without a licence, and driving under the influence of alcohol.”

Those who were arrested would appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court.
Police continue to encourage community members to keep reporting all criminal activities in their areas by phoning the station on 011 699 1300 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.

Alternatively, the MySAPS app can be used to send anonymous tip-offs, or go to the nearest police station.
