Pinnacle College Kyalami hockey player selected for Southern Gauteng Hockey U14 team
The mother said her daughter was a committed and dedicated sports girl who has set herself big dreams to achieve in sports.
A Grade 8 learner at Pinnacle College Kyalami, Addison van der Byl has been selected for the Southern Gauteng Hockey U14 team.
Her mother Taryn described her daughter as a committed and dedicated sports girl who has set herself big dreams to achieve in sports.
“Addison is not only good in hockey, she’s also the best softball player and great swimmer. She has always been a hardworking talented individual. She’s extremely competitive, has a positive mindset and has a true love for sport,” Taryn said.
Head coach at Beaulieu Hockey Academy Errol Davis said Addison possessed qualities of a good listener and made decisions based on the betterment of her team, and always took responsibility for her actions.
Davis added Addison showed a strong willingness to improve her skills and knowledge of hockey.
Addison said her dream to play at the Olympics one day kept her going and optimistic.
