Douglasdale police raise awareness of various crime issues in community

Community members were educated on a number of different issues affecting residents in the surrounding areas of Douglasdale.

Douglasdale police alongside a number of stakeholders held a joint crime awareness campaign at a mall in Cosmo City on May 26.

The police were joined by Sanca (South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence), Department of Social Development and Gender-Based Violence Brigades.
The spokesperson for the police Captain Mpho Tshetlhane thanked all those who were involved in the day’s events.

“Pamphlets on safety tips were also distributed. The purpose was to raise awareness on the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex community, domestic violence, gender-based violence, business and common robberies,” she said.
