Marketing coordinator at Heronbridge College said dancers have put the school on the world map.

Heronbridge College congratulated its three learners who were part of the Johannesburg group that participated in the 50th Irish Dance World Championships.

The annual dance competition took place at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland from April 10 to 17 after being delayed for two years due to Covid 19.

Marketing coordinator at the school Candice Gibson said the school was very proud of the three learners. “On April 13, Grade 9 learner Keira Taylor, Grade 8 learner Erin Taylor and Grade 9 learner Eden Minnaar from Heronbridge together with Morgan Greyvenstein, former Heronbridge now Steyn City Grade 9, performed in the junior girls figure section.”

Sha said their hard work and dedication over months of practise paid off as the team took the first-ever podium, claiming first place and
first-ever Globe trophy for South Africa and the Robinson Dance Studio.

She said Eden performed again on April 14 with the senior girls’ figure team where they took another trophy as SA’s senior figure team took third place.
