Heavy rains devastated the province between April 8 and 22, with more than 430 lives lost and an unknown number of people missing. Members of the association will leave on the weekend of May 7 to hand over clothes and blankets to those affected.
Member of the association, Edward Mkhomazi said the community came out in their numbers to donate the necessary items to the victims. Residents could donate between April 21 and May 2.

“We appealed to the public for clothing, bedding donations in solidarity and sympathy for people of KZN who were victims of the floods. The drop-off was at the social development offices in Ext 2,” he said.
