Suspect arrested for business robbery and possession of unlicensed firearm in Sunninghill

Police spokesperson said the suspect was arrested at around 21:45 at the corner of Edison Crescent and Maxwell Drive.

Sandton police arrested a 31-year-old male suspect for business robbery and possession of unlicensed firearm in Sunninghill on April 5.

Sandton Police Station spokesperson Captain Bheki Xulu said, “On April 5 around 21:45 at the corner of Edison Crescent and Maxwell Drive in Sunninghill, three male suspects robbed a shop. The security officers who were close to the shopping centre managed to apprehend one suspect and handed him over to the police. He was charged for business robbery and possession of unlicensed firearm.”

Xulu said the suspect was remanded in custody after he briefly appeared in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on April 8.
