Diepsloot protest – police promise action
The ministers have promised Dieplsoot residents that officials from different departments will work together to solve the issue of crime in the area.
The meeting between Diepsloot community leaders, Minister of Police, Bheki Cele and minister of Home Affairs Dr Aaron Motsoaledi has been concluded, on April 8.
Addressing scores of community members outside Diepsloot Youth Centre after the meeting, Cele said the police and home affairs officials will continue with their operation to search and arrest criminals who are in the country illegally.
Cele said more police including 12 high profile detectives have been deployed in the area.

Motswaledi urged community members not to take the law into their own hands. He said his department had deployed 25 officials to work with the police to arrest and deport illegal immigrants.
“We will continue working with the police in the area. We will have officials that will be dedicated in the area for a period of three months,” concluded Motsoaledi
