Thirteen arrested for crimes in police operation

FOURWAYS – Captain Mpho Tshetlhane said the arrested suspects will appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court soon.

On the weekend of March 11 to 13, police operations in the Douglasdale area led to the arrest of 13 suspects.

Captain Mpho Tshetlhane, spokesperson for Douglasdale police said, “The suspects were arrested for different crimes ranging from possession of unlicensed ammunition, rape, possession of drugs, dealing in liquor without a licence, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, malicious damage to property, theft and shoplifting.”
The suspects will soon appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court.

In light of the arrests, police have continued to encourage community members to keep reporting all criminal activities in their areas by phoning police on 011 699 1300 or 08600 10111.
Alternatively, they can use the MySAPS app to send anonymous tip-offs or go to the nearest police station.
