Diepsloot house robbery suspect appears in court

DIEPSLOOT– Diepsloot Police Station spokesperson Captain Tinyiko Mathebula said the victim was able to provide police with the descriptions of the suspects.

A 26-year-old male suspect was remanded in custody after he briefly appeared in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on March 11.

The suspect was arrested for house robbery on February 20 in Diepsloot Ext 6.

It is alleged that the suspect and his accomplice who was still at large, forced entry into the victim’s house and robbed her of her cellphone and money at gunpoint.

Diepsloot Police Station spokesperson Captain Tinyiko Mathebula said the victim was able to provide police with the descriptions of the suspects.

“On March 9, the victim contacted the police after seeing one of her alleged robbers. The police acted swiftly and proceeded to the scene. On arrival, the victim pointed out the suspect to the police. [The suspect] was arrested and has since appeared in court and was remanded in custody.”
