HeronBridge celebrates success

FOURWAYS – As the football concludes, HeronBridge College is excited for the next league.

A local high school team celebrated a successful football season that lasted three weeks.

Five of HeronBridge College’s football teams took part in a new league and played multiple matches against schools across the city. The teams that took part included two junior boys, U16 boys, mixed girls and a boys’ first team.

On October 22, the junior boys and U16 boys reached the finals at Beaulieu College. The U16 boys finished second after an unbeaten season, but lost 2–0 to Beaulieu.

After a tense penalty shoot-out, the junior boys placed first and won gold medals.
For a first season, the football teams were proud of the season, and are looking to the future in next year’s season.
