Suspect arrested for drug possession

MIDRAND – The spokesperson said police were on high alert, patrolling within the Midrand area to make sure that properties were safe.


Officers arrested a man after he was allegedly found in possession of drugs in Halfway House.

According to Constable Eliot Mabulane, spokesperson for the Midrand Police Station, while conducting foot patrols, officers arrested the man around 16:30 on July 16 as he came out of a venue at Halfway House.

“The suspect has been arrested after he was found in possession of suspected drugs in his pockets and detained at the Midrand Police Station.

“The exhibit will be sent to the lab for an examination, however, the suspect was due to appear in the Midrand Magistrates’ Court on July 19 to answer to all the allegations laid against him.”

Mabulane concluded that as the community faced fear of looting, police were on high alert, patrolling within the Midrand area to make sure that properties were safe.
