Thank you to patrollers
DOUGLASDALE – In an effort to thank Douglasdale CPF patrollers, food parcels were handed out by the police and CPF.
Douglasdale Community Policing Forum (CPF) and police recently held an outreach project for the CPF patrollers at Christian Revival Church (CRC) in Fourways.
The patrollers are volunteers who were appointed by the Gauteng Department of Community Safety that is based at the police station. Church members also joined the police and CPF to hand out the food parcels to the patrollers.
Chairperson of the CPF, Lizzy Mabena said the distribution of the food parcels was an opportunity to show appreciation and give thanks for all their assistance.
“The CRC, through its outreach programme, wanted to thank the patrollers for their dedication and efforts in keeping the community safe and their selfless volunteerism – volunteering their already limited resources for the greater purpose of promoting safety and security.”
She mentioned that the patrollers’ work and assistance were even more appreciated during this time of Covid-19 ‘where our already disadvantaged are worse affected by the economic challenges and economic effects’.
Spokesperson of the police, Captain Mpho Tshetlhane said the 34 Douglasdale community patrollers received food parcels that were organised by the church. “We would like to thank the church for their continued support and dedication towards the development of our needy communities,” Tshetlhane concluded.
