Country View Park receives upgrade
COUNTRY VIEW – Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo has upgraded Country View Park's playground equipment.
Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo has upgraded the playground equipment in Country View Park.
Region A manager for City Parks Joseph Ndou said a service provider was appointed by the City to carry out the upgrade.
Ndou said, “The importance of this upgrade is to meet customers’ needs, attract young families to our park facilities and to provide a safe playground area for the kids.
He added, “The community made a request some years ago to have playground equipment [installed] in the park but due to a lack of budget, we were only able to instal this playground equipment last year, and only now we were able to instal a rubberised surface under the playground equipment to ensure the safety of kids.”
Ndou concluded that the playground would promote social cohesion and healthy living among the local community, and hoped they would take ownership of the equipment and park.
