Diepsloot Secondary School 3 gets furniture boost from a development company

DIEPSLOOT– Principal at Diepsloot Secondary 3, Mmatebogo Makhubedu said the school has been a target of criminals who broke into the school and stole school infrastructure.

A development company has donated much-needed office furniture to Diepsloot Secondary School 3 as an investment in the community.

Nthoese Development donated the items to the school after it suffered burglaries, theft and vandalism of its infrastructure during the school holidays in December last year and early this year.

Principal of the school, Mmatebogo Makhubedu said the school had been the target of criminals.

“We are very grateful that Nthoese Development has come to the party to lend a helping hand. This furniture will help us provide for our teachers and admin staff members.”

Makhubedu added, “The school has not been able to reopen its doors for teaching and learning yet because of burglaries that took place during the school holidays. We thank the company for investing in the future of our children.”

Business development head at Nthoese Development, Jackline Okeyo said the company always looked for different ways to help communities in which it operated.

“We always aim to stay in touch with communities and try to find ways we can help and give back. We are currently renovating one of the buildings in Pretoria and we decided not to take the furniture to auction or sell but to give it to the community in need,” Okeyo explained.

“One of our workers who is from Diepsloot informed us that the school was vandalised and furniture stolen during the school holidays. We believe that this will be a great investment for the community.”
