Fourways locals keep active despite restrictions

FOURWAYS – Despite lockdown restrictions for the majority of the year, Fourways residents have continued to show their love of sport.

The Covid-19 pandemic put a spanner in the works for most sport this year.
Despite these challenges, passionate community members have relished every opportunity to get back on the field, pitch or court.

A number of talented Beaulieu hockey players have gone from strength to strength. The players, who are a part of the Gryphons team, showed off their talent.

The Blue Hills yard, Ezethu, hosted its first show since March in August. Despite the challenges they faced, riders were excited to get back in the saddle.

Local resident, Yarona Morule (16) was to represent South Africa at the African Tennis Championships before it was postponed, but this setback has not dampened his spirits. Despite the delay, Yarona continued to put his best foot forward.

Although the Comrades Marathon was cancelled this year, Sunninghill runners decided that they would still take on the challenge of completing the arduous run.

Fourways resident and avid runner Juliana Ambrosi did not let the cancellation of the Comrades Marathon prevent her from running and helping those in need in her community. She completed the Comrades Marathon while raising money for Daily Bread.
