Police search for 14 suspects following Diepsloot robbery

DIEPSLOOT – Information regarding an armed robbery which left one person injured is required from the public.

Diepsloot police officers are searching for 14 male suspects in connection with a robbery that took place at a store in Diepsloot on 14 October.

Corporate communication officer of Diepsloot Police Station, Captain Tinyiko Mathebula said it was alleged that a group of 14 men wearing face masks posed as customers.

“While inside the store, the suspects allegedly pointed firearms at staff members and demanded that they open the tills and also give them the safe keys,” he said.

It is alleged by the staff that the suspects took about R10 000 from the tills and about 100 cell phones from the stockroom to the value of almost R300 000.

“While running to their getaway cars, they allegedly fired four shots which led to one person being hit in the leg and they were rushed to hospital for medical treatment.”

A case of business robbery and attempted murder is being investigated by Diepsloot police.
