City Power cuts off power to Dainfern residents who haven’t paid their bills

DAINFERN - City Power said that one resident in Dainfern owed at least R1 million to the power entity.

City Power visited various Dainfern estates on 23 September to cut-off of electricity at some houses which have overdue bills.

The operation is part of City Power’s revenue collection efforts targeting those who owe their electricity bill, are illegally connected to the network, have bridged meters or meters that have been tampered with to ensure the customer is not correctly billed.

The operation targeted the areas around Dainfern, where City Power is owed and losing millions in revenue.
