The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD), together with SAPS and Gauteng Traffic Police, embarked on Operation Okae Molao on 10 September in Diepsloot.
During the joint operation, they received information on the whereabouts of three wanted suspects. JMPD spokesperson, Wayne Minnaar said, “The first suspect was located at Malatji informal settlement in Diepsloot. The suspect had an illegal firearm which was loaded with five rounds, he also had four rounds in his pocket. The serial number was tested and was linked to a Norkem Park case in the year 2000.”

Officers went to a second address at Malatji where a second suspect was arrested with an illegal firearm. “Then they went to an address in Diepsloot Ext 12, where the third suspect was also arrested for possession of an illegal firearm which was stolen in Cape Town in the year 2000,” said Minnaar
