Lipizzaners centre is grateful for support

KYALAMI – A donation from local businesses and Caxton Local Media has helped support the South African Lipizzaners.

Thanks to a partnership between Caxton Local Media and local businesses, the South African Lipizzaners has received some much-needed donations.

The South African Lipizzaner Centre is a renowned equestrian facility in Kyalami and the stallions have entertained audiences with their beauty and grace for over 70 years. However, the lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic has put this institution under considerable financial strain.

The facility is a non-profit organisation, dedicated to the preservation of the magnificent Lipizzaner horses in South Africa.

The South African Lipizzaners in Lockdown feature, included in the Fourways Review [Week ending 24 July] aimed to raise funds to support the Lipizzaners during the lockdown. Thanks to the advertisers in the feature, which included Arco, Crowthorne Shopping Centre, Sandton Doggy Dayspa, Mark White Nissan, Car Service City Midrand, Car Service City Fourways and SPAR Vorna Valley, R1 159 was donated to the Lipizzaners.

Volunteer at the centre, Gina Boxley, is passionate about the Lipizzaners and hopes their history and legacy will continue in South Africa for many generations to come.

She said, “I cannot tell you how grateful we are for the incredible support Caxton has given us over this Covid-19 period just keeping the South African Lipizzaners in people’s hearts and minds with the weekly stories. They are so precious to us and to have your support is absolutely fantastic.

“Thank you from the very bottom of their gorgeous performing hooves to the tips of their magnificent tails. We salute you for your support, consideration and care.

“The Lipizzaner breed, I believe, is worth preserving and protecting. They are noble and regal and we have the honour and privilege of having all six bloodlines in our country, South Africa.”
