Skhanda World is set to release their new winter collection

Music label Skhanda World is hitting all the right notes in both the music and fashion world.

Colourful, chic and cosy would be the best way to describe their latest winter collection for 2020. Bold designs and pops of colour is what fans can get their hands on this winter.

Fourways resident and Skhanda World director, Tsholofelo Moremedi, shared the inspiration behind the latest range.”K.O [hip-hop artist] and I went to Europe earlier in the year and we were in Norway, so I think just travelling there in winter opened us up to the trends there. We saw the colour palette that side, you know what people were wearing and we realised that people didn’t really care about being subtle in their style, so we went bold too.”

With five fun pieces in the collection, Moremedi mentioned that both he and K.O were involved in the design process.”We literally just put our ideas together and the range was born. There’s that one comfortable tracksuit with the perfect fit that everyone likes and we thought well this would actually work for anyone, we made the sample, incorporated different things and it was a go.”

Unisex, the collection comprises of three tracksuits in three bold colours and two long sleeve T-shirts representing South Africa through its colourful design. “I think our brand is very playful, so we just enjoy the design aspect where we bring in pops of colour with solid colours. With the printing we wanted to stand out, not just for our fans but to capture people’s attention. When you walk into a room people must be automatically interested to find out what brand that is.

“Describing the collection as happy and playful, Moremedi said it was here to brighten spirits, especially during the pandemic. “I think for us it represents a mood, a very happy mood and I think with what’s happening right now we just need a few things to cheer us up.

When you look at the pieces, because the colours are so bright, it instantly lifts the mood.”His favourite piece is the black tracksuit which he will be sporting throughout winter.Apart from the fashion we can also look forward to new music and two new artists under the Skhanda World label.

“We’re just about to impact the game, bring back the excitement in hip-hop. For now we will be releasing new music and videos, giving people real content and remaining relevant.”
