Chartwell Stables hosts lessons again after lockdown level three restrictions are relaxed

FOURWAYS – The yard has put in place stringent measures which were met with approval by a Covid-19 risk assessor.

Lessons are back in full swing at Chartwell Stables following the relaxation of lockdown Level 3 restrictions.

Both the riders and their trainers were excited to be back, said stables owner, Shirley Sadleir, who said they opened immediately after permission was received to hold lessons again.

The yard has put in place stringent measures which were met with approval by a Covid-19 risk assessor. These measures include sanitising, the taking of temperatures and social distancing.”We are also teaching the riders in ones and twos, instead of in larger groups,” Sadleir explained.

“Most of the parents opted for this too, when given the choice. This is safer and the children are so happy to be back because they have no other sports going on.”

Sadleir said the smaller classes have led to longer operating hours during the day, also as the stables had been making up for missed classes during lockdown.”We lost some money while we were closed but thankfully I had some in the account I could use. We only charged half price for lessons until now but now we are back at full price.”

She added that many of the riders were benefiting even more now as they have individual classes with their trainers and get more attention than they had in classes with larger groups.
