Robber arrested in Sunninghill

SUNNINGHILL – The suspect is expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrates' Court facing charges of robbery.

Sandton police officers arrested a suspect after he had allegedly robbed a victim of his cell phone in Nanyuki Road in Sunninghill on 12 June.

Spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station, Captain Granville Meyer said that excellent detective work resulted in the arrest of the alleged robber.

“The suspect, aged 30, robbed his victim of his cell phone after he threatened him with a scissors while he was walking along Nanyuki Road in Sunninghill.”

Meyer explained that the Sandton detectives conducted a preliminary investigation and the suspect was positively identified by the victim in Sunninghill.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court facing charges of robbery.
