Reddam House learners showcase their creativity

MIDRAND – Learners at Reddam House Waterfall created beautiful photographs showing their toys in action during lockdown.

Learners from grades 1 to 3 at Reddam House Waterfall Junior Preparatory foundation phase used their imagination to bring their toys to life during a lockdown art project.

Art teacher at Reddam House Waterfall, Emily Seddon said, “Being stuck at home during lockdown is sometimes dull and lifeless, so last week’s photography project allowed our budding junior preparatory artists to bring life to their toys.”

Seddon explained that the learners were required to create a beautiful photograph showing their toys in action. Materials required included toys (ranging from Lego to stuffed animals etc.), a camera, decent lighting and a fun, imaginative setting.

Learners put together a variety of creative scenes ranging from dolls sitting at a campfire to construction sites.

She explained, “The children approached the task with immense enthusiasm and creativity, as is evident from the high-quality artworks that they produced.”

Seddon concluded, “Demonstrating both skill and flair, our students marvellously put their creative ‘out of the box’ thinking to the test by capturing beautiful sceneries, play of light and close-up action shots. They really enjoyed this project.”
