Andile Khumalo shares some helpful resources for entrepreneurs during the Covid-19 pandemic

FOURWAYS – During his most recent weekly newsletter, Andile Khumalo of I Am An Entrepreneur shared some helpful resources and tools for business in these uncertain times.

In these difficult times, everyone is struggling, including entrepreneurs trying to keep their smaller businesses alive.

Andile Khumalo, who is the founder of the I Am An Entrepreneur (IAAE) programme which provides support and upskilling for entrepreneurs across the country and which hosted a full-day workshop for business owners at Montecasino on 14 March, recently released a newsletter to the media and the IAAE community outlining places where entrepreneurs can receive additional support.

“We are officially in the second week of the lockdown and I hope we are all staying at home and staying alive,” began his newsletter. “It’s tough times like these that call on us to think out of the box and see challenges as an opportunity to find solutions to the world’s greatest problems.”

Besides sharing a few of his thoughts on what business owners can do to support their employees during lockdown, Khumalo also shared a few webinars that the public can access in order to plan their next step in these uncertain times.

  • Government support

The National Empowerment Fund (NEF) in partnership with the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition has set up a R200-million Covid-19 fund that black businesses that manufacture and supply a range of medical products can now access. Khumalo spoke to the NEF’s uMnotho fund manager, Zama Khanyile, to find out more about the fund and you can watch the video here [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6zKUOIMGMw].

  • Digital support

Khumalo also shared some information on Digify Africa’s free online sessions, which will help entrepreneurs become equipped with the skills and tools to work smarter. The hour-long sessions are held on Wednesdays and Thursdays and will run until 17 April. To register, fill in the document here.
