A new year means new goals for mums at Witkoppen Clinic

FOURWAYS – The Witkoppen Clinic provides new mums with valuable life skills to ensure they have a successful year.

For many of us, a new year is a time when we set goals that will help us work towards a better version of ourselves. We make our resolutions, but without a plan to actually achieve them, many resolutions get written down, placed in a drawer, and stay there until the next year.

But not this year. With a little bit of help, the mums of the Witkoppen Clinic support group are going to actively reach for their dreams.

To kick off the first support session of the year, the Witkoppen mums were given the opportunity to talk about their goals for the year.

They also discussed what actionable steps they plan to take to achieve their goals, including what they would like to discuss and learn in future support sessions to help them take those steps.

Murray Booth, marketing executive at Cuddlers, hopes the mums take all the skills that they learn in these sessions and use them to their full advantage. “It was lovely to see many mums return to continue their journey and we are excited to welcome some new mums who are starting their journey with us. We want to wish them the very best, and hope that they seize as many opportunities as possible,” said Booth.

Fhumulani Makhera, the social auxiliary worker at Witkoppen Clinic, believes beautiful things happen when women come together in support of each other. “2019 was a very successful year of support for our mums. We have seen them grow in confidence and strength with each session and we hope this momentum carries on through 2020 and beyond, with many more great sessions to come,” added Makhera.

The support sessions for new mothers are sponsored by Cuddlers, Witkoppen Clinic and the Fourways Review, under the banner of Caxton Cares. The sessions are bi-monthly on Thursdays, with the next session taking place on 6 February at 10am at the Witkoppen Clinic, 105 William Nicol Drive, Fourways.
