Mini drop it’s top for the summer

Mini has added the Convertible Sidewalk to its model range, allowing for the soft-top roof to drop down during hot summer days.

The new variant will feature precisely coordinated colour and material options for the body and roof. The Sidewalk will feature model-specific exterior colour options as well as 17-inch light-alloy Scissor Spoke 2-tone wheels while the interior will feature unique fittings designed specifically for this derivative. Standing out from the crowd, the Mini Sidewalk will feature Deep Laguna exterior paint contrasted by model-specific bonnet stripes and body colour mirror caps. White Silver metallic and Thunder Grey metallic schemes are also available on request

Protecting you from the sun and rain is a fully automatic textile top which features a woven arrow graphic can be opened and closed within 18 seconds. On the interior occupants are treated to anthracite-coloured leather surfaces which are combined with contrasting stitching in Petrol and Energetic Yellow. The driver side gets a sports leather steering wheel while the front passenger gets backlit decorative trim in Piano Black.

Under the bonnet, you can either have the 1.5-litre, three-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol motor producing 100 kW or the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol motor producing 141 kW. Both engines come mated to a 7-speed Steptronic transmission although a 7-speed Steptronic Sport transmission can be specified.

The new MINI Convertible Sidewalk will be available worldwide from March 2020 – and available in South Africa from the second quarter of the year.
