Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga has started to announce the 2019 matric results today (7 January) at the Vodaworld Dome in Midrand.
The Gauteng province maintained its 80 per cent plus performance achieved in 2018.
Eight million question papers were printed and 7.6 million scripts were marked by 45 500 markers in just 10 days.
111 188 learners were enrolled for matric in 2019, see the full list of below:

A total of 97 829 wrote the final examinations, 12 153 achieved a higher certificate and 29 516 achieved a diploma certificate.
