Between 22 and 24 November, the police from different areas of Johannesburg north which include Douglasdale, Diepsloot, Florida, Linden, Roodepoort, Honeydew and Randburg arrested 169 suspects during operations that were conducted throughout the area.
The suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from pointing of firearm, fraud, armed robbery, rape, attempted murder, dealing in liquor without a licence, common assault, possession of suspected stolen property, possession of drugs, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, theft and shoplifting.
The arrested suspects will appear in the Randburg and Roodepoort magistrates’ courts soon. The police also appeal to community members to keep reporting all criminal activities in their area by phoning the nearest police station, or alternatively by using the newly launched MySAPS app to provide tip-offs anonymously and or to find their nearest police station.
