A positive post office experience

LONEHILL – Clem Angus writes to the Fourways Review to share a positive experience he had at his local post office recently.

Clem Angus writes:

A salute to the spirit of Fourways!

Earlier this week I had to renew a car licence disc at the Fourways Post Office in the Leaping Frog Centre, and as I didn’t want to wait in a queue I went to Humble Harry’s (next to the post office) at 7.55am. The post office opens at 8.30am so I bought a cup of coffee from Harry’s, they lent me a chair, and I sat myself down to wait at the Post office’s front door.

Within a minute, the post office door opened and Emmanuel Sondlane, the branch manager, asked if he could help me. When I told him what I needed he immediately told me to come in and processed my licence application within three minutes. I was out of there by 8.04am – with over 25 minutes before the post office had even opened.

I was completely bowled over by the service and the friendly attitude displayed by Emmanuel. People are always complaining about the levels of service in the post office in general, so I thought this may be of interest to you.

A great start to my week.
