SPAR and Suzuki hand over a brand-new car

BLACKHEATH – Imagine winning a brand-new car as your first car – this woman did.

Brand-new car was given to one lucky SPAR Women’s Challenge runner.

The feeling of winning isn’t over for those that participated in the 2019 SPAR Women’s Challenge. Machismo Khunedi is still celebrating her 5km win while the 10km winner Helalia Johannes is doing the exact same.

Another woman who will forever remember the 2019 edition of the race is Duduzile Mashinini – she walked, rather drove away, with a brand-new Suzuki Celerio on 6 November. Her winning of the car wasn’t just lady luck being on her side but a massive blessing as well. Mashinini expressed, “I’m so grateful and happy, this is my first car and I’m excited to hit the road in my new car.”

Mashinini won the spacious family vehicle as part of the SPAR Women’s Challenge and Suzuki Northcliff’s collaboration to give a car away to one lucky runner. She explained how she almost issued out on the prize. “I had already left when they started announcing competition winners. I ran back onto the field and I was very excited at the time. I got there just in time to get the prize.”

Mashinini also added that when she entered she had no hopes of winning but did so just to try her luck.

Peter Ramasilo of Suzuki Northcliff was pleased to see Mashinini and her family drive off in one of their vehicles. “For us it was an amazing moment to see Duduzile and her family come to collect the car.”

He added that it will be great to see Mashinini become an ambassador for Suzuki with her brand-new car.
