Mums Matter

FOURWAYS– Each session gives mum the skills they need to prepare for different stages in childcare, as well as skills to uplift them as individuals.

Caring for young children is hard and can be confusing, so cuddlers, Witkoppen Health and Welfare Centre, and the Fourways Review, under the banner of Caxton Cares wanted to make it little easier.

They decided to team up to create sessions of support and learning for new mums, each session gives mum the skills they need to prepare for different stages in childcare, as well as skills to uplift them as individuals within a community.

Murray Booth, a marketing executive at Cuddlers, said it’s wonderful to see a difference these sessions make.

“From the moment they enter the session to the moment that they leave, you can see the mums feel more motivated to take on life. Its wonderful feeling to know that we are part of that, “said Booth.

Fhumulani Makhera, the social auxilary worker at Witkoppen Health and Welfare Centre, said that he has been proud to be part of this journey to help uplift the mums. “Its been wonderful to see the mothers become more confident within themselves after each session,” added Makhera.

The sessions run bi-monthly on Thursdays.

When: 26 September at 10.30am
