Six injured in a head-on collision

DIEPSLOOT – It is believed that the roads where the incident took place, are under construction.


Six people, including a mother and two children, have been injured in a head-on collision between two light motor vehicles at a stop-and-go on the R114 outside Diepsloot on 19 September.

According to a statement by ER24 spokesperson, Ross Campbell, ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene at 4.24pm to find one vehicle up against a tree with three adults still seated inside. Family members of three of the injured people were standing nearby.

He added that nurses who had been nearby had initiated treatment which was of great help. ER24 treated the mother and her two young children for moderate injuries and transported them to a private hospital for further care. “The driver of the other vehicle, a 38-year-old male, was also treated for moderate injuries and transported to a private hospital. The remaining two passengers, both adult males, were treated and transported to hospital by another service on the scene,” said Campbell. 

He added that the roads where the incident took place are believed to be under construction.

 The Johannesburg Metro police were present at the scene for further investigations.
