Man left seriously injured following a two-vehicle collision
DOUGLASDALE – ER24 rescue medics utilised various rescue tools to free the man from the vehicle.
A collision between an SUV and a light delivery vehicle at the Douglas Drive and Alexader Avenue intersection in Douglasdale left a man seriously injured yesterday (28 August).
According to Russel Meiring from the ER24 communications office, Er24 paramedics arrived at the scene to find the two vehicles in the intersection. They found three people walking around the scene while a man, believed to be in his late 20s, was found lying trapped inside the delivery vehicle.
Meiring said that ER24 rescue medics utilised various rescue tools to free the man from the vehicle. Once freed, medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and was in a serious condition.
“The man was treated for his injuries and provided with pain-relief medication before he was transported by another service to a private hospital,” said Meiring.
Local authorities were present at the scene for further investigations.
