CHARTWELL – Women's month kicked off in style as Pink Power women empowerment brings through entrepreneur's to build community and nurture a culture of empowerment.


Pink Power, a women empowerment platform kicked off Women’s Month celebration at the second annual Pink Power Day on 2 August at Castle Guesthouse in Chartwell.

Pink Power Day is aimed at bringing together corporates, businesswomen and entrepreneurs to build a community and nurture a culture of empowerment, collaboration and support amongst women.

Under theme Dream, Define and Do, Pink Power Day provides a platform for all women to share their successes and challenges while celebrating the incredible strength of being a woman.

Co-founder of Pink Power Tumi Mkhondo explained why they started this initiative, “We have created this platform to build a community of women and enable them to share successes, challenges and to collectively share knowledge gained through past or current experiences.

“Pink Power Day is a way of reminding women that they don’t have to compete with one another to be successful but rather collaborate and support each other to achieve even greater success and it starts with celebrating one another as women and the role we play in society,” said Mkhondo.

Speakers at the event included founding director of DreamGirls Academy Ezlyn Barends, managing director of Senatla Panelbeaters Winny Senatla and co-founder of Burgundy Fly Nobesuthu Ndlovu.

Empowering topics of discussion included breaking boundaries, building a community over competition, empowered women empower women and women’s health along with beauty trends

“Pink Power Day celebrates and encourages women to support, connect and be inspired by other women outside the corporate environment.

“We aim to empower one another in a fun-filled scenery of amazing speakers, beauty treatments, exhibitors and great entertainment” concluded co-founder of Pink Power Tumi Makhu.
